Re: Relationships-You should have told me that up front!

Dating is an exciting and awkward experience for both sexes. FIRST dates, in particular, can present by far some of the craziest experiences one will have when dating. There is so much on the line during those first few dates that often many people “forget” or just plain don’t bring up need-to-know information. Whether it’s a fear of being rejected or for other various but understandable reasons, there are certain things your date is untitled to know about before things get exclusive. Reminiscing on dates I’ve been on and drawing from friends’ experiences, I’ve compiled a list of 5 items I think are “Need-to-know” info. Here’s my two cents:
1)        1. Any mental or physical illness that would directly affect your date if they later became your significant other. (i.e. STDs, depression, epilepsy, schizophrenia, etc.). Now, I’m not saying just randomly bring these things up in the middle of your salad and bread sticks a’ la Olive Garden but at least by the third date he or she should know about these things.
2)       2. KIDS!  I really shouldn’t have to explain this any further. But I’ve heard countless stories from some of my girlfriends where they had been talking to a guy (sometimes even for months) and all of a sudden he starts bitchin’ about some baby mama...and she’s like “WHAT?” Gentlemen and ladies please don’t surprise your date with kids.
3)      3.Religion. It can be very difficult to be in relationship with someone who may have opposing beliefs than you. It’s good to know from the get go what you’re getting yourself into. and with that comes…
4)     4.Politics.
5)     5.That you both are on the same page as far as what kind of relationship (if any) you want with your date.
